You may also feel bloated, experience flatulence, nausea or vomiting, anal/rectal irritation and, when you first start taking Macrogol [brand name], mild diarrhoea. These side effects generally improve as soon as the dose of Macrogol [brand name] is reduced. If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

  In individual cases, hypersensitivity reactions/allergic reactions (skin rash, itching, skin redness, hives), swollen hands, feet or ankles, headache or increased and decreased blood potassium levels may occur. Diarrhoea may occur especially at the start of therapy or if the dosage is too high.
