Tracheal tubes are intended to be inserted orally or nasally through the larynx into the trachea, they are used to establish a temporary artificial airway to convey Drugs, gases and vapours to and from a patient's lungs during spontaneous, assisted or controlled ventilation for short durations in the medical department for anesthesia and oxygen delivery. They also allow the passage of a suction catheter for removal of secretions and to prevent aspiration of fluids into the lungs.

• Consult instructions for use

  Prior to intubation, deflate the cuff completely. After intubation, inflate the cuff using the minimum volume of air required to provide an effective seal. Immediately after cuff inflation, auscultate both lung fields. If breath sounds diminished over one lung field or absent over one or both fields, adjust the tube as required. Endotracheal tube placement should be confirmed by viewing the position of the tube tip with a chest radiograph. It’s recommended to be used by skilled and trained personnel.
