These changes may, for example, cause the tissue thickness to exceed the indicated range for the selected staple size. Careful consideration should be given to any pre-surgical treatment the patient may have undergone and in corresponding selection of staple size. •The linear cutters are provided sterile and are intended for multiple use during a single procedure. Discard after use. Do not resterilize. •The Reloads are provided sterile and are intended for use in a single procedure only. Discard after use. Do not resterilize. •Different types of Reloads are only compatible with corresponding linear cutters. Incompatible linear cutters and Reloads will result in unacceptable staple formation. •Ensure to select a Reload with the appropriate staple size for the tissue thickness. Overly thick or thin tissue may result in unacceptable staple formation. •Verify the compatibility of cartridge (Reload), instruments and accessories prior to using the instrument. •Visually inspect that there is no inclusion of unintended anatomic structures within the staple line. •Make sure that no metal clips or other obstructions are incorporated into the instrument jaw when positioning the stapler on the application site, otherwise the stapling may not form properly. •Tissue thickness should be carefully evaluated before firing any linear cutter. Refer to the specification chart and the warning & precautions. •The instrument should not be used on tissue such as liver or spleen where compressibility is such that closure of the instrument would be destructive.
