The open support covers the wrist, the adjacent metacarpal region and the forearm. The 5 mm thick insulating layer and the elastic stabilization strap (50 mm wide) ensure a perceptible feeling of support to the wrist by means of a rapid and individual attachment and adjustment of the strap using the hook and loop fastener. The support is particularly suited for use as a preventative measure for patients who risk overstraining their joints, for example, when weight lifting. The thumb is left free of any fixation.
