Open support with a cut-out for the heel, and 2 (inside) medial hook and loop fasteners, covers the lower tibia and the ankle, as well as the longitudinal arch reaching down as far as the lateral arch of the forefoot. The more firmly the foot is held in the pronated position, the more effectively will supination be suppressed during movement and the greater the relief will be on the ligamentous apparatus. The same applies for limiting pronation. The warming of the entire joint region as provided by this support promotes relief to the inside and outside ligaments and increases, the elasticity of the same; the wide strap and thin neoprene material avoid pinching. To increase the stabilization of the ankle, the two 50 mm wide, partially elasticated stabilization straps are wound in a figure-of-eight pattern around the longitudinal arch and the ankle and then fastened using hook and loop tape. It should be noted that when limiting supination, the inside strap is used first in order to hold the support in place, and then the outside stabilization strap is then fixed according to individual requirements. The procedure for limiting pronation is analogous. Pull the support on, straps are pointing outwards. Fasten support on the inside. Wind the inside strap around the joint and fasten. Pull the outside strap taught, bring it inside and pass around the joint before fastening.
